http://www.pcpartspicker.comYour best bet is to build your own computer with the help of a site like the one above or one that is equivalent to it. It is by far cheaper than buying a computer built straight from a manufacturer. With Alienware and others, you are paying more for the Name than the actual computer itself. What this guy said. If you make your own, you can usuallly get a powerful one for half the price of some of the one with the same specs.

If you make your own, you can usually get a powerful one for half the price of some of the one with the same specs. That's definitely a trick towards beginner PC builders, or people who just own gaming consoles, nuub . It's most of the time a little bit more expensive to build your own PC and that you live and die with the decisions you make on each separate component unlike prebuilt with some shady Chinese parts. I'd go with asus over extremely overpriced Alienware (which in this special case you can definitely build a more powerful rig for the budget) hence the qualifier "usually". Never said this was how it was 100% of the time. Besides, not many people are stupid enough to buy Chinese parts, as you put it.
